Frequently Asked Questions
What types of tax returns do you prepare?
I specialize in individual tax returns (Form 1040) for:
College students and graduate students
Faculty and staff
Local residents who need a simple, affordable, accurate filing
I handle W-2s, 1098-T (tuition), scholarships, 1099-NECs, side gigs, unemployment, and typical state returns (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island).
I do not currently file business (Schedule C with employees), partnerships, or corporate returns.
How do I upload my tax documents?
You’ll receive an invitation to Drake Portals (a secure, encrypted client portal).
Log in from your phone or computer.
Upload clear photos or PDFs of your W-2, 1098-T, 1099, and any other forms.
When your return is ready, I’ll send it back for your review.
You’ll e-sign Form 8879 through the portal (IRS-approved e-signature using Knowledge-Based Authentication).
Everything stays encrypted and fully compliant with IRS and Connecticut data-security requirements.
How long does the process take?
Typical turnaround:
Simple student return: 1–2 days after all docs are received
Faculty/staff returns: 2–4 days depending on complexity
E-filing confirmation is sent immediately after IRS acceptance.
What is the student & staff discount?
Yes!
I offer a flat $100 all-inclusive return for college students and faculty/staff.
That covers your federal + Connecticut state filing, W-2s, and common forms like the 1098-T (for students) or educator deductions (for staff).
Additional forms (extra states, side gigs, crypto, etc.) can be added for a small fee.
This discount is automatically applied when you select “Student Return” or “Faculty Return” while booking your appointment online — no promo code needed.
